David Glasgow's Matinee Cabaret - February
Performers know the work of getting a song ready for the stage can feel like a never-ending journey. But the irony is that, if we do that work well, to our audience it can seem like the music “just happens.”
What would happen if those two perspectives were to converge—performers and audience members exploring together what makes a performance powerful, and learning together how to love music from both sides of the mic?
Area voice students join singer/pianist/actor/director David M. Glasgow, multi-instrumentalist Dani Fiore, and bassist Allen Roth to create just that magical convergence at Empowered Music on the first Saturday of every month—and we'd love for YOU to join the conversation as an audience participant! (Plus, we have snacks!)

Empowered Open Mic!
Take the mic!
Perfect for solo artists and small groups to test out your songs in front of a supportive audience! Musicians can have the opportunity to sit on a jam, too! Bring your instrument and your friends.
Hosted by central PA’s most famous open mic host: Jonathan Frazier!
Gear on hand: Keyboard, drum set, guitar amp, 2 mics/PA.
Grand Open House Jam!
Our Grand Open House Jam will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 2-5 pm at Empowered Music (3327 Market St. Camp Hill). This casual gathering will be a time to introduce ourselves to the community, speak with new prospective students, and invite the neighborhood to enjoy a casual outdoor hangout with light refreshments and live music.
Enjoy student performances and bring your instrument to jump in to a live open jam afterwards!
As we all know, it takes a village to throw a good party and we’d love to have your help. We are looking for assistance with a variety of donations including food/drinks/time. A pop up tent or two would be helpful. We are also planning a bake sale, so if you’re ready to blow the dust off your Grammy’s famous apple cobbler recipe for a good cause, we’d be interested in your support, too! All proceeds will go toward growing Empowered Music and increasing opportunities for students.
If you’re able to donate provisions, assist with the event, or show your support by attending, please RSVP and/or sign up by clicking on the link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0849AFAE2EA1F4C70-empowered and filling out the form.
Opening Empowered Music Education has been a Herculean task in a brief period of time. It has only been possible because of the dedication you have shown to yours or your child’s musical education. We, the teachers, thank you all for coming on this journey of becoming empowered musicians with us.
Now, let’s jam!
(The event will be held mostly outside so bring a lawn chair/camp chair if you’re able).
