During the “Mini-Workshop” we’ll:
walk through the history & anatomy of the handpan
take time to discover our unique touch
explore basic rhythms, patterns and styles of play
Afterwards, it’s time to journey inward during the Handpan & Vocal-Infused Sound Meditation.
During this time, I invite you to relax in the theta state as you move between the three awarenesses of the Breath, the Body & the Mind. This sound meditation will be infused by the melodic, shamanic qualities of the handpan and frame drum, with vocal explorations, the crystal bowl, gong, chimes, and other earthen objects woven in. Inspired by the natural world – the 5 elements of Air, Wind, Water, Fire & Aether/Space – we will oscillate between the stillness of silence and movement of sound to more deeply integrate elemental balance within.
This month’s theme is “Self-Love is My Guiding Light Home.”
Please arrive comfortably.
There will be chairs available for a seated sound meditation experience, and floor space if you prefer a more restful position laying down. Please bring a yoga mat, pillows or bolster, and blankets for additional comfort. Eye pillows are available for the first 8 attendees. Consider bringing water bottle or tea, a notepad and pen/pencil for journaling and grounding afterward.
