Meet Daniel Braun, one of our passionate music instructors, whose 25-year journey in music brings a wealth of experience to our students. Starting as a teenager with a dusty classical guitar, Daniel taught himself to play, write songs, and record music - years before home studios became mainstream. This self-driven spirit led to a BA in Recording Arts and a minor in Music Theory at CSU Dominguez Hills, where connections with industry mentors in Los Angeles shaped his deep understanding of music creation and production.

After college, Daniel moved to Harrisburg, PA, launching a home recording business that grew into a high-end studio, producing albums for an eclectic mix of artists in pop, rock, folk, and more. As a performer, Daniel wrote and toured regionally with original bands, including a two-year stint in Portland’s vibrant indie scene with Ghost Town Cinema, releasing a full-length album in 2020. Returning to PA in late 2020, he founded Ghost Town Sound, a YouTube channel showcasing local artists, and then served as lighting director and sound engineer at The Englewood in Hershey.

In 2024, Daniel opened The Portal, a recording studio in Linglestown hosting weekly electric and acoustic jam sessions, live-streamed with professional audio and video. With a knack for inspiring creativity, Daniel is eager to share his expertise in guitar, keyboards, drums, songwriting, and music production, helping students of all levels find their unique voice in music.
